[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1664968933930{margin-bottom: 50px !important;}”]The sierra mountain range and its coast are included inside Serra Gelada Natural Park. In 2005, the Valencian government declared the area a Natural Park to protect its value and proceed to preserve its natural conservation. It is one of the most singular parks as it is the first marine and land park in the Valencia region. In fact, its surface area is of 5.564 acres, 88% of which are part of the sea.<\/p>\n

It is inside this marine part where we can find its vast biological diversity, including Posidonia Oceanica, a plant that is vital for marine wildlife, contributing to the oxygenation of the water and a reserve for fish, molluscs and crustaceans, becoming a place for breeding, shelter and feeding.<\/p>\n

On land, we must pay special attention to the hanging fossil dunes, that were formed over 100.000 years ago, creating the more than 300 metre tall cliff along the coastline.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1664968950937{margin-bottom: 30px !important;}”]<\/p>\n

Without a doubt, the most symbolic animal is the bottlenose dolphin, the park being one of the four official observation points for cetacean sightings located in the Valencian Community.<\/p>\n

The vegetation found in the park is marked by the diversification of its landscapes, allowing for the presence of native species of moths, dune juniper or Portuguese crowberry.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1664968984929{margin-bottom: 30px !important;}”]<\/p>\n
