El Rac\u00f3 de l\u00b4Albir is located in Altea Bay, between the slopes of Serra Gelada and the impressive Pe\u00f1on de Ifach. From this particular, pebble stone beach we can enjoy one of the most spectacular views of Alicante\u00b4s coast. The quality of its waters, services and other elements that make up its shore have maintained the Blue Flag in every edition of this award for quality that has been handed out annually since 1987 by the European Foundation for Environmental Education to beaches and ports that accomplish certain environmental standards and for their facilities. Throughout the year, the beach front is a constant flow of tourists and residents that every day go to the beach to enjoy the marvellous views of the bay and to walk along the Paseo de las Estrellas promenade, where the names of the awarded artists in l\u00b4Alf\u00e0s del Pi Film Festival are engraved in stone and bronze on the floor. At the beginning of Rac\u00f3 de l\u00b4Albir Beach you can find a tourist office and the impressive sculpture of an anchor titled \u201cAsentamiento\u201d (settlement) made by the artist Jorge Castro, with various cultural activities taking place around it in summer, part of the Estiu Festiu festival. There is also the Artisan\u00b4s Fair there every summer.<\/p>\n

WATERSPORTS <\/strong><\/h3>\n

The bay\u00b4s seabed is part of Serra Gelada Natural Park\u00b4s protected area and is home to a great variety of animal species along with an extensive meadow of Posidonia Oceanica, an essential plant for marine ecosystems. It is a privilege to sail its waters and use its environmental buoys. This makes its waters a perfect setting for scuba diving or snorkelling and for other sports such as kayaking, paddle surf, sailing or windsurf.<\/p>\n

Offering residents and visitors shade and the possibility of enjoying a good read in a privileged environment. Users can read national and international press in various languages and have access to magazines and books.<\/p>\n

COVES AND UNIQUE SPOTS<\/h2>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column][vc_column_text]Along Serra Gelada\u00b4s coastline there are three natural coves with crystal clear waters situated among rocks and pebbles, coves that display a great variety of marine flora and fauna, where we highly recommend you go diving. The coves can be accessed by sea or land, walking down the rocky trails that split from the asphalted path to the lighthouse. The access along the rocky trail must be taken with special care and using comfortable and appropriate footwear. “El Amerador” Cove<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Width: 7 m
\nExtension of the cove: 20 m.<\/p>\n

One of the smallest, its name comes from being the place where freshly cut esparto grass was left to soak and soften, afterwards used to make baskets, hampers and rope. Its rocky shore and sea bed are not too deep, making it a unique and perfect spot for amateur diving and for spending a peaceful day on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.<\/p>\n

“Del Metge” Cove<\/strong><\/h3>\n

One of the most beautiful coves, its name comes from the proximity of the Metge (doctor\u00b4s) house. Totally pristine and very recommendable for snorkelling fans when there are no waves. Its small cliffs are of note, making it a unique landscape to enjoy fantastic views.<\/p>\n

“De la Mina” Cove<\/strong><\/h3>\n

At the foot of the old, red ochre mine ruins, it is one of the places you have to go.
