Easy reading guide to Albir Lighthouse
Environmental education is key to preserving our natural heritage. Aware of this, we have an easy reading guide for people with any degree of intellectual or visual disability, elderly people or people with reading disabilities, to provide tourist information in a simple way on wildlife, flora, heritage, geology, palaeontology and the marine area that surrounds Serra Gelada Natural Park. This guide was made by l´Alfàs del Pi Town Hall under the direction of the person responsible for accessibility in APSA, an NGO that carries out various activities to improve the life quality of people with various disabilities according to the regulations of ILSMH European Association and UNE 153101 -EX Spanish experimental regulation.

INCLUSIVE SPORT
The l´Alfàs del Pi Councillorship for sports, in collaboration with Social Welfare and the association AFSRT, offer an adapted sports programme that improves and promotes integration for people with physical, psychological or sensorial disabilities. This inclusive and health initiative has made l´Alfàs del Pi an exemplary town in health sport for other towns in Spain and Europe. Through the healthy workshops programme that the Councillorship for Welfare organizes, other many activities for the elderly are also carried out to improve their physical, cognitive and social abilities.
“Inclusive sport means that people with or without disabilities can carry out and enjoy the same sport”
We have the experience of celebrating tennis, indoor football, athletic and athlete training championships for people with disabilities, gaining an international recognition that attracts the interest of sport committees and federations from other countries, who come to see us and know our facilities are accessible to all athletes. The Spanish sport federation for blind people (FEDC / ONCE) carries out their athletic trials in l´Alfàs del Pi, where athletes can evaluate their capacity and achieve records that will allow them to go to events such as the Olympics. The Saudi Arabia Paralympic committee´s delegation has carried out a training programme divided into 4 weeks. The first week focused on physical and psychological preparation, getting to
know the surroundings and studying how technicians and trainers work in our country. The second and third week were to adapt the procedures here to athletes who come to this Campus. Finally, the fourth week focused on competitions with other teams and athletes from here to apply and verify the results of the training acquired. The Spanish ONCE indoor football team was in the Pau Gasol Pavilion in l´Alfàs del Pi preparing themselves for the indoor football world cup held in Turkey. We support inclusive initiatives and collaborate with projects with associations that take part in events such as the 2021 first inclusive mountain hike in Serra Gelada Natural Park.
